fishing on Lake Norfork Arkansas

4. Bass fishing at sunset/moonrise - one of Norfork's many tranquil moments
Fishing
Norfork Lake is famous for its healthy population of large striped bass. Crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, blue catfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and bream are all popular sportfish regularly caught in Norfork. The lake never freezes, and fishing season is open all year. While fishing is good all year, the hot action occurs in the early spring months and again in the late fall months. Because Norfork water is so clear most of the year, you'll need to use line that is no heavier than 6 pound test, and it should be green or clear. If you have never fished a clear water lake your best bet is to go out with a professional guide for a day. You'll not only learn how to fish with the right tackle, but you'll learn how to locate fish in this large body of water. Resort owners also have a few worthwhile fishing tricks up their sleeves!
